RadAlert — Radar Alerts for Cyclists
Last updated: March 2026
RadAlert is a standalone Apple Watch app that connects to a Garmin Varia radar and delivers haptic alerts when vehicles approach from behind. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.
RadAlert does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All data stays on your device and, where applicable, in your personal Apple Health database.
RadAlert requests access to HealthKit to record cycling workouts. Specifically:
HealthKit data is stored exclusively in Apple Health on your device and is subject to Apple's privacy practices. RadAlert has no access to your historical Health data.
RadAlert uses Bluetooth to scan for and connect to a Garmin Varia radar device. No Bluetooth data is stored or transmitted beyond what is needed to receive radar threat alerts in real time.
RadAlert does not share any data with third parties. There are no analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or external network requests of any kind in this app.
RadAlert itself stores only one piece of data: whether you have acknowledged the safety disclaimer (a boolean flag stored locally on your Apple Watch). Workout records saved to Apple Health are retained according to your Health app settings.
RadAlert is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
Questions about this privacy policy can be sent to the developer via the RadAlert GitHub Issues page.
